SOUHRN

Věkově specifická prevalence diabetu v České republice se výrazně zvyšuje s věkem. U mužů starších 70 let je prevalence diabetu 35-40 %. U žen starších 75 let je prevalence diabetu 30-35 %. V roce 2021 bylo v ČR 680 000 diabetiků starších 65 let. V témže roce byla nejvyšší incidence diabetu u osob mezi 65. a 70. rokem života, inzulínem bylo léčeno 130 000 seniorů starších 65 let. Aktuálně jsou k dispozici data z různých sekundárních analýz klinických studií fáze II-IV, která potvrzují bezpečnost a účinnost nových tříd antidiabetik u seniorů. Znalost geriatrických syndromů a jejich včasné rozpoznání snižuje pravděpodobnost manifestace nežádoucích účinků antidiabetik, která mohou poškodit závažným způsobem senilního diabetika. Mezioborová spolupráce se jeví být zásadním předpokladem pro zlepšení péče o diabetiky starší 65 let.

SUMMARY

The age-specific prevalence of diabetes in the Czech Republic increases significantly with age. In older men 70 years, the prevalence of diabetes is 35-40%. In women older than 75 years, the prevalence of diabetes is 30-35%. In 2021 there were 680,000 diabetics over the age of 65 in the Czech Republic. In the same year, the highest incidence of diabetes was among 65 and 70 years of age, 130,000 seniors over 65 were treated with insulin. They are currently available data from various secondary analyzes of phase II—IV clinical trials confirming safety and efficacy new classes of antidiabetic drugs in the elderly. Knowledge of geriatric syndromes and their early recognition reduces the probability of the manifestation of adverse effects of antidiabetic drugs, which can cause serious harm senile diabetic. Interdisciplinary cooperation appears to be a fundamental prerequisite for improvement care for diabetics older than 65 years.
